Marc is based at our Central London Office and specialises in Creditors Voluntary Liquidations and Administrations.
This month we are shining the spotlight on one of our colleagues, Marc Evans, who is based at our London office. Marc works closely alongside our Licensed Insolvency Practitioners and specialises in Creditors Voluntary Liquidations and Company Administrations.
We asked Marc to answer some questions, including what got him into the Insolvency profession, what he particularly enjoys about Insolvency, and of course we also asked him what he enjoys in his spare time away from Insolvency.

What do you enjoy about insolvency? What got you into the profession?
“I was working for a firm of accountants during the financial crash in 2008 and when I was asked whether I would like to move to the firm’s insolvency department, I thought that it sounded very interesting, and given the economic uncertainties at the time, a more secure job than most.
Working in insolvency means you work with companies in all types of different sectors and are always learning. Securing a positive outcome from a difficult starting position is also very rewarding.”
-
Past career, firm, experience? Interesting cases you have dealt with?
“I have worked in insolvency for over 15 years now, with Antony Batty & Company LLP being the third company I have worked for. Whilst I have worked on personal insolvency cases throughout my career most of my experience is in corporate insolvency.
One of the more interesting cases I have worked on was the Administration of one of the UK’s biggest cosmetic surgery companies, which was caught up in a huge fraud case. In this Administration, the business and assets were sold to existing management which enabled a large number of the clinics to remain open, saving approximately 200 jobs, and enabling a dividend to creditors.”

Interesting fact about yourself, Hobbies, interests
I am a professional in London who loves to escape the city and explore as much of the countryside and world as possible in my free time. For me, I am always most excited when I am on route about to explore somewhere new.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the theatre or cinema, watching and playing sports, and trying new restaurants or cooking at home.
