Tony is a Junior Insolvency Administrator and is based at our London office.
Here we are shining the spotlight on one of our newest colleagues, Tony Chambers, who is based at our London office, and is a Junior Insolvency Administrator.
We asked Tony to answer some questions, including what got him into the Insolvency profession, what he particularly enjoys about Insolvency, and of course we also asked him what he enjoys in his spare time away from Insolvency.

What do you enjoy about insolvency? What got you into the profession?
I graduated from university in 2021 and during my job search, my sister, a commercial litigation legal executive, put me into contact with Antony Batty & Company. I’ve enjoyed learning about the processes and mechanics of liquidation, administration, and arrangements, though I’ve mostly been dealing with Members Voluntary Liquidations. It’s very satisfying to be able to make a distribution to either members or creditors and the end of the process.

Past career/firm experience and interesting cases you dealt with
Prior to graduating, I worked in restaurants, bars, retail stores and start-up businesses, but Antony Batty & Company is where I have started my career proper. So far, one of the most interesting aspects has been working closely with a large corporation on a simplification project to liquidate a large number of subsidiaries that have reached the end of their useful life using the MVL process.

Interesting facts about yourself, Hobbies, interests
I studied Russian and French with translation at university and originally planned to become a translator. I’ve always had a passion for languages and a natural talent for maths, but literary and poetic analysis was always my weakness. I enjoy playing and studying chess, I’m very social – usually meeting up with friends 2 to 3 times a week, and I love to travel, I’ve been to Russia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Wales, and Scotland, with more to come.
