As of 1st of July 2021 we are delighted to announce that Licensed Insolvency Practitioner Matt Waghorn has arrived to take up his position as a partner at the firm, alongside Lawrence King. The company started trading on 1st of June 2021 and specialises in insolvency, recovery and turnaround. We will be operating from two offices in Abingdon and Reading.
A long-standing partnership
Matt and Lawrence have known each other since 2005, and have both worked their entire careers in Insolvency, with Matt qualifying as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 2006 and Lawrence in 2010. Both handle all areas of insolvency.
As Matt says:
“Lawrence and I have long held the ambition of founding and running our own practice, and I am delighted to be joining him at our new offices. Our new company has been up and running now for a month and so I will be joining at a great time.”
“When Lawrence and I first discussed last year our shared vision of how to run an Insolvency Practice and our wish to work together on a day-to-day basis, it was obvious that we shared a vision of putting both staff and client service first and creating a strong team atmosphere.”
The new firm is a joint venture with Antony Batty of Antony Batty & Company
K&W Recovery is a separate entity to the rest of the Antony Batty & Company family, which comprises 6 offices in London, the South and the South West. However, as a joint venture with Antony Batty, K & W Recovery will trade as Antony Batty & Company, Thames Valley, and will work in close collaboration with the other offices.
Matt continues:

When working in the Reading office, Matt will be joined by former colleague John Kirkpatrick. John is the senior business development manager in the Reading office, and a key part of the new Thames Valley team.
