Matt is a partner and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner at Antony Batty Thames Valley. He started his career in insolvency as a trainee in 1998 at Oury Clark. Matt went on to become a Partner at the firm in 2007 having passed the JIEB in 2006 and becoming a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
He joined Nortons Recovery Limited in 2008 as a Director. Nortons Recovery was acquired by Wilkins Kennedy LLP in 2011 and Matt became a Partner in Wilkins Kennedy LLP at the same time. Wilkins Kennedy LLP itself merged with Baldwins Holdings Limited in 2018 and Matt became a Director. This firm changed its name to Azets in 2020.
Matt handles all areas of insolvency and has had particular experience with the reconstruction of large groups of companies, especially in the tech and healthcare sectors.
Along with Lawrence King he founded K&W Recovery Limited in June 2021, a joint venture with Antony Batty and Company. The company trades as Antony Batty & Co Thames Valley.
Although K&W Recovery Limited is a separate entity from the rest of the Antony Batty & Company family, the company looks forward to working closely in collaboration with the rest of the wider ABc team.
In his spare time Matt enjoys watching both football and rugby and has even been known to play both. He is an avid horse racing goer having a very small interest in a number of syndicates. Matt enjoys spending time with his young son and they are both season ticket holders at Reading FC.
