Why did you become an Insolvency Practitioner/Choose a career in Insolvency?
My many years at Barclays and my time in Accountancy stood me in good stead for when the opportunity for a new challenge in Insolvency came along 18 months ago.

Your most embarrassing moment in your working life
So not whilst in insolvency but in my working career:
I was one of the first Personal Bankers at Barclays and an article had appeared in the local newspaper. I turned up one Saturday morning to find that my Colleagues had used the article as ‘Wanted Posters’ of me all over the banking hall as a joke. With my first customers waiting, there was no time to take them all down.
-
Your proudest moment in your career?
Taking part and organising a “stars in your eyes” event in Dorset. It raised £14k for a children’s hospice and 330 people attended.
In my working life, the majority whilst I was at Barclays, I have helped raise through events I have organised over £50k for Charity.
-
What piece of wisdom would you pass onto a new recruit into the world of insolvency?
Always remain compassionate, people have often put their heart and soul into their business. However, to make the right decision I have said many times we need to remove the emotion and look at the right business decision.
